"The Good Lord Took Her Home" (Original Poem)

In calm repose

Her soul arose

The good Lord took her home

To heaven flown

Where God enthroned

Has called to bring her home

The pearly gates swung open wide

And she passed through to the other side

The good Lord took her home

Those streets of gold

Her eyes behold

The good Lord took her home

Clothed in white

And brilliant light

The good Lord took her home

Renewed in body, mind, and soul,

The good Lord has made her whole

When he carried her home

Pilgrimage done

Paradise won

The good Lord took her home

Death defeated

Heaven greeted

The good Lord took her home

The heavenly host all proclaimed

Her coming and shouted her name

The good Lord brought her home

Such joy abounds

The trumpets sound

The good Lord brought her home

Reunion dear

And joyful tears

The good Lord brought her home

Departed loved ones gathered near

And from the masses rose a cheer

The good Lord brought her home

I have no choice

I must rejoice

The good Lord took her home

When my day comes

My journey done

The Lord will bring me home

In Loving Memory of Gram
